Epiphanies are everywhere. They’re those moments when your eyes suddenly open and you see something in a way you never had before.
But here’s the catch: most of us miss them.
Why? Because we’re not present. Because we’re not asking questions. Or, sometimes, because we’re simply not ready to receive the answer.
An epiphany can come from anywhere…a comment from a stranger, a question from a coach, or even a thought you ask yourself in the quiet of your own mind. Sometimes it’s someone offering you a perspective you’ve dismissed before… until the day it finally lands and you get it.
That’s the beauty of curiosity. Wondering. Asking. These open the doors for new ways of seeing.
My most recent epiphany came from my daughter. Every evening, after a full day of work and school, the first thing she asks me is: “What’s for supper?”
At first, I wondered why not, “How are you, Mom?” So I asked her.
Her answer stopped me in my tracks:
“Because those dinners are the highlight of my day.”
In that moment, I realized: it wasn’t about food at all. It was about connection, the ritual, the shared space we create at the table.
Every time I have an epiphany like that, I feel this incredible mix of joy, humility, gratitude, and grace. Joy for the new clarity. Humility for the reminder that I don’t have all the answers. Gratitude for the fresh chance to experience life differently.
And maybe that’s the real gift of an epiphany: not just a new perspective, but the reminder that there’s always more to see if we stay curious enough to ask, and open enough to receive.
