This week I shared a concept with a client that felt so important, I wanted to share it with everyone.
It’s about clarity and more specifically, the two different types of clarity we often confuse.
Most people say they feel “stuck” because they don’t have clarity.
But in my experience, that’s rarely the real issue.
The real issue is that we’re waiting for the wrong kind of clarity.
There are actually two types of clarity.
The first is Initial Clarity.
This is the minimum clarity you need to get started. It’s not detailed. It’s not perfect.
It’s simply a sense of direction that says, “This feels like the next step worth taking.”
Initial clarity answers one question only: What’s my next step?
The second is Decision Clarity.
This is the clarity needed to fully commit, to make a final decision, close a door, or say yes to one path and no to others. It’s precise, grounded, and confident.
Here’s the problem:
We believe we need Exact Clarity before beginning and that myth keeps us frozen.
Because in real life, exact clarity is rarely available at the starting line.
It’s usually discovered along the path of action, through movement, experimentation, feedback, and lived experience.
When we wait for perfect clarity, we delay momentum. We overthink instead of begin.
So here’s the invitation for this year: Become aware of the two types of clarity.
Ask for Initial Clarity not perfection. Let that be enough to start.
Because beginning is often what creates the clarity you’re waiting for.
This is a year about starting sooner. Moving forward with trust.
And allowing clarity to meet you on the path, not before it.
